Negroni # 32 “Zucca Delizioso” Thanksgiving Pumpkin

I’d been dreaming of making this special Thanksgiving Negroni for months. It came out spectacular

The Gin: Monopolowa Dry Gin, it was handy, most any gin will do.

The Vermouth: Noilly Prat Rouge

The Amaro: Amaro Montenegro

More: Pumpkin Butter,  Urban Moonshine Maple Bitters, Whole Spice Cinnamon

This cocktail is perfect for a Thanksgiving warm up, delicious fall flavors.

In creating this cocktail I tried many amari, the Montenegro turned out to be just right. Made using over 40 herbs, it was created by Stanislao Cobianchi of Bologna  in 1885 after travels to Montenegro lead him to experience a drink with extrodinary digestive power called Karik.  He opened a small shop and then a large distillery, his drink gained great popularity and here it is today.

The gin could be any dry gin, but the Monopolowa always works well, the vermouth Noilly Prat very sutible for this type of drink.

The recipe:

1 jigger gin

1 jigger vermouth

3/4 jigger Amaro Montenegro

1 teaspoon pumpkin butter, I used Trader Joe’s

Stir well over good rocks. Pour,  add two drops of Urban Moonshine Maple Bitters and dust with good cinnamon.

Smiles guaranteed…
