This Negroni made with Sicilian wine was inspired by Wine Enthusiast
Lifestyle & Entertaining Editors, Mike DeSimone and Jeff Jenssen, modernize this classic cocktail by adding a dash of delicious Goosebump red wine.
The Gin: Bluecoat American Dry Gin, Philadelphia, PA USA
The Vermouth: None, instead Colosi, Terre Sciliane, Nero d’Avola
The Amaro: Cynar
More: Stirrings Blood Orange Bitters
In Mike and Jeff’s recipe for this cocktail they call the Goosebump Negroni they call for:
3 ounces Goosebump Wine
1 ounce gin
1 ounce Campari
1 ounce blood orange juice
Thick orange slice, for garnish
We looked for but could not find the Sicilian Goosebump and since that is a Nero
I made some variations with the ingredients that I had at hand.
2 ounces Colosi, Terre Sciliane
1 ounce gin
1 ounce Cynar
1/2 ounce Stirrings Blood Orange Bitters
A thin orange slice, for garnish
Made in the standard method, came out mighty tasty.
